Looking back at my first breath, I turn back in 1975, where at the age of 7 I lived the unique experience of underwater breathing for the first time. Although this was my first real contact with the underwater world, I was impressed by the marvels of the sea from a much younger age, listening to my older brother telling stories about the waters of Benghazi and Sardinia for the great fish of the Aegean but also for the mysteries hidden beneath the surface of the oceans. He was 22 years older than me, a sponge diver expert and my mentor.

Upon completion of secondary education I was ranked in the Greek army. Seeing this obligation as a unique opportunity to upgrade my diving techniques, I decided to rank in the O.Y.K. Although the training of this unit was very difficult, it helped me to obtain invaluable technical skills and knowledge that would help me become a better diver. Learn how to teach and focus my concentration, how to manage pressure situations under water, how to control my breathing and more.

Initially, I worked as a professional diver, at underwater works such as port and ship inspections, reef cleaning, construction of anchorages, and shipwreck investigations and delays until 1987. Through these activities I developed much more studied techniques and so in 1993 graduated from a school of Western Trainers of the Hellenic Force School, making a diploma that significantly expanded my mountain ranges as a twin trainer and later as a trainer of twin trainers. When it was time to open my own diving center, there was only one name in my mind, a name that truly embodies my whole world, Thalassa.

My vision was for this center to act as a real community for anyone interested to seek information and knowledge about diving, whether in terms of leisure or business. As a trainer, I realized that people are learning with different methods and at a different pace, and so I begin to form an educational method, which soon became the backbone of our academy curriculum. In 2002, I was a member of the founding school of free diving that took place in Greece under the auspices of EADD, the Hellenic Association of Underwater Activities and whose courses were fully integrated into our academy program. In 2010 I was trained as a dive cylinder inspector, a professional diving inspector. Continuing my training in 2005, I became a trainer of PADI, a first aid instructor (EFR) and a trainer of 10 special skills. I was certified in 2010 as a lifeguard educator. In 2015 I received the specialization of DDI Disabled Education, an initiative that springs deep out of my heart, and proceeded with my continuing education. In 2016 I became an EFR First Aid teacher trainer and then certified with the PADI Master Free Diver Instructor.

Thalassa is my true passion. As we see our academy growing up, our students trained to become top-class recreational divers or even outstanding professional instructors, we grow up with them as well. Above all, we want to offer all our students a multifaceted and profound experience of the love, passion and respect that the magical seabed of the seas really deserves.
